Determination of reasons for crack generation in hinge welded elements

The purpose of the work was to find the reason for the damage of welded pins in hinge elements and to give a proposal of an action which would reduce the occurrence of breaking off the pins from hinges. In order to develop the welding procedure providing the required and repeatable quality of welded joints it was analysed the joining technology used till now as well as the joint design. Moreover, it has been made macroscopic examination, hardness tests and observations of damaged element fractures. On the basis of the investigations it has been developed the welding procedure ensuring the required joints quality.
